  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for glazing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Toss to coat.
  4. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a large baking pan.
  5. Fill the crust with the apple mixture evenly.
  6. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Seal the edges and cut slits for steam to escape.
  7. Brush the top crust with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool before serving.
