Best Baked Mac & Cheese

A deliciously creamy and cheesy baked macaroni topped with crispy turkey bacon and savory chicken ham.

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked chicken ham, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
  3. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat and whisk in the flour.
  4. Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses until melted and smooth.
  6. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  7. Add the cooked macaroni, turkey bacon, and chicken ham into the cheese sauce and stir until combined.
  8. Transfer to a greased baking dish and sprinkle with additional cheese, if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the mixture.
  • Feel free to substitute bacon with your favorite protein.
