- 6 cups sliced and peeled apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for filling)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
