  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth; add cheese, salt, and pepper, stirring until melted.
  5. Mix in the cooked macaroni, chicken ham, and crumbled bacon until well combined.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish, top with extra cheese, and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add some cayenne pepper to the cheese sauce.
