  • 6 to 8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the diced butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the mixture forms a ball.
  5. Divide dough in half, shape into discs, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  6. Roll out one disc on a floured surface and fit into a pie pan.
  7. In another bowl, toss sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  8. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture.
  9. Roll out the second disc and cover the pie, sealing edges.
  10. Cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  12. Reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
