  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup Guinness beer
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain the excess fat.
  3. Add carrots, celery, and onion; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in garlic, peas, and tomato paste; cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Pour in Guinness beer and Worcestershire sauce; add thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
  6. Transfer the meat mixture into a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
