- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup Guinness beer
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain the excess fat.
- Add carrots, celery, and onion; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, peas, and tomato paste; cook for another 2 minutes.
- Pour in Guinness beer and Worcestershire sauce; add thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer until the mixture thickens.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
