  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to the yeast mixture; stir to combine.
  3. Gradually add flour, cinnamon, and salt. Knead until the dough is smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough and spread with softened butter. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices. Place in a greased baking dish.
  7. Let rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

  • Feel free to add nuts or raisins for extra flavor.
