Homemade Shepherd’s Pie

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and chop.
  3. In the same skillet, add ground turkey, onions, and garlic. Cook until turkey is no longer pink.
  4. Add peas, carrots, chopped turkey bacon, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use homemade mashed potatoes.
  • Add cheese on top before baking for a cheesy crust.
