Homemade Shepherd's Pie

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and crumble.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in onions and mixed vegetables, cooking until onions are translucent.
  5. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, thyme, and crumbled bacon. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Pour the turkey mixture into a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cheese on top of the mashed potatoes before baking.
  • This dish can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
