Ingredients
Scale
1 cup glutinous rice
1 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 ripe mangoes
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
Rinse the glutinous rice until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Drain the rice and steam it for about 25-30 minutes until it’s fully cooked and sticky.
In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt, and heat until the sugar dissolves without boiling.
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a bowl and pour about 3/4 of the coconut milk mixture over it. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
Slice the mangoes thinly.
To serve, place a portion of sticky rice on a plate, top with mango slices, and drizzle with the remaining coconut milk. Sprinkle sesame seeds if using.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the coconut milk mixture.
To enhance the presentation, consider garnishing with mint leaves.
