Oreo Cupcakes

Oreo Cupcakes are a deliciously decadent dessert that combines the classic flavors of Oreos with moist chocolate cake and creamy frosting.

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 6 Oreos, for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add in the vegetable oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Fold in the crushed Oreos.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cupcakes cool completely.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gradually add powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes with the whipped cream mixture and top with half an Oreo.

Notes

  • For an extra chocolatey flavor, you can add chocolate chips to the batter.
  • Allowing the cupcakes to cool completely is important for the frosting to hold well.
