Perfect Toffee Apple Pie

A delicious and comforting homemade dessert featuring rich toffee flavors and tender apples.

  • 6 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package pie crusts
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Add the sliced apples and toss to coat. Cook until apples are tender, about 10 minutes.
  4. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish. Fill with the apple mixture.
  5. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  6. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool before serving.
