  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in the cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the chopped turkey bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  7. Mix the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until well coated.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
