A delicious and comforting shepherd’s pie made with turkey bacon, perfect for cozy dinners.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 ounces turkey bacon
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (peas, corn, carrots)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook diced turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add olive oil and onions, cooking until translucent.
  4. Add ground turkey, cooking until browned. Stir in mixed vegetables, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and thyme. Mix well.
  5. In a baking dish, layer the turkey mixture, then top with mashed potatoes and cheese.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute ground turkey with lentils.
  • Feel free to add spices to taste.
