1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 packet onion soup mix
1/4 cup milk
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup chopped onions
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion soup mix, and milk. Form into patties.
Brown the patties in a skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side.
Transfer the patties to the slow cooker.
In the same skillet, add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, mushrooms, onions, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, then pour over the patties in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
Use lean beef for a lighter option.
