Venezuelan Sweet Corn Cachapas

A delicious and comforting dish made from fresh corn, cachapas are a staple in Venezuelan cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the corn kernels, corn flour, sugar, salt, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour in some batter to form a pancake.
  3. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. If using cheese, add a slice on top of the cachapa before folding it in half.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!
